Skibby's Corner

We are in the homestretch of the 2010 Road and Track Cycling Season!  We have yet to crown the state road race champ and we've got the Toren Heuval Race coming up Aug 21st to get those road legs spinning.  The State Road Race will be held Saturday Aug 28th in Richmond MN.  Note the venue change due to difficulty in obtaining permission to use the Sibley County course.  Thanks to those who helped secure a new course at the last minute.

Congrats to the locals who have represented us well at the National Masters Road Race Championships held in Louisville Kentucky.  Charlie Townsend, Sherry Berde, Gerald Finken, Linda Sone and Adam Bergman all earned stars and stripes jerseys!

At the August 2nd MCF meeting, Chris Smith was elected to replace Brian Crosby as MCF Vice-President.  We are excited to have 'Smithers' on board as he has many years of race and club organization experience to share with us.

See you at the races!

Mountain, BMX and Triathlon Racing

Minnesota has a vibrant racing scene in all forms of bicycle racing. The MN Cycling Federation is the "local association" of USA Cycling, presently coordinating local road, track and cyclocross racing. USAC has been granted authority under the Ted Stevens Olympic and Amateur Sports Act, through the US Olympic Committee, to be the sole governing body for competitive bicycle racing in the USA. Mountain bike, BMX, triathlon and duathlon racing do not fall under the MCF's responsibilities. Triathlon and duathlon racing is coordinated through USA Triathlon.
