The race organizer for Machinery Hills Criterium Series has made the tough decision to call off the first night of the series due to impending rain, wind, and chilly temperatures. Racing will resume the following week as planned. The FTWNB clinic provided by Triple C Coaching will happen 4/23 instead, 4:30-5:30 and same deal as before, MCF will cover one day licenses for those that come to the clinic and put their new skills to use on the course! ... We want to address some concerns and comments that stemmed from our last post about the Machinery Hill Criterium Series. We completely understand the frustration and confusion from the sudden pivot to all Tuesday night crit races being sanctioned. One thing we as MCF want to make clear is that we stand with and for riders to race as they choose to, in the category that aligns best with their gender identity. When the USAC policy was rolled out, the Self Identity Verification Review and its 30-day review period created confusion, frustration and fear, especially as it concerns new riders who often show up for day-of registration and use one-day licenses. We followed up this week with USAC to clarify this policy and they reiterated that the 30-day review process is in no way intended to be a waiting period. The form has an option to check for an expedited review, but USAC’s direction in response to the question was for the race organizers to side with the rider. And to be abundantly clear, the MCF will side with the rider, and our position is that we expect race organizers to side with the rider and turn no one away. If there is anything we can do to support those with this process, please don’t hesitate to contact an MCF executive board member. We’re sorry for those that have been impacted by this. The decision to sanction all MHCS races was no one’s first choice, and was the last choice remaining in the short time frame other than cancelling races. As a board we’re human and working through this in real time with the community, and we are committed to advocating for the change we all want to see in this sport. We sincerely appreciate your patience and confidence while we deal with the day-to-day challenges of helping make bike racing available to our community. We hope to see you next week. In the meantime, please don’t hesitate to reach out if you need assistance or want to discuss. ... See MoreSee Less

Important update for MHCS this year. Fortunately, the series will be able to continue with the dates as planned, however due to some recent and unforeseen circumstances, the only way for the first five races to move forward is for them to also be USA Cycling sanctioned. This means you will need a USAC racing license. - 1 day licenses can purchased online through bikereg when registering for the race(s) you plan to attend. - Full year licenses can be purchased on USA Cyclings website. - New racers can use discount code: INTROMEMB24 for a discount on their first year. - Returning racers can use discount code: TEAM24 for a discount if they need to renew. Sorry for the confusion and pivot everyone. Endurance Promotions is doing Express Passes again this year, all 10 MHCS races for the price of 9 and grab-and-go check in on race day. Corey and Triple C Coaching is also doing a free FTWNB crit clinic at the fairgrounds one week from today. Find Triple C Coaching’s socials for more info and drop them a follow! Can’t wait to see everyone! ... See MoreSee Less

Partners

We are pleased to announce that this year we are partnering with River Moon Wellness! We highly encourage you to go and check out their website and subscription coffee services. They will have a presence at some of our races, especially the more cold weather oriented CX events this fall. Please give them a look as they are helping support the Upper Midwest racing scene!
