Looking for a kids Road Bike

My eight year old son has shown an interest in riding with dad and racing in the future. I would like to get him his first road bike, but would rather not swallow the price of a new one until I know he will use it enough to warrant that expense. Thus, I am looking for used a road bike with 24" wheels (or 650 if the frame is small enough) with STI-type shifting. My son is 4'3" tall.

Thanks to Dag, I found just what the little guy needed. I appreciate all the feedback I got from several people! What an awesome community.

Our club, the Twin Cities Spoke, has several members who are also in the market for kids bikes, so if you have one that has been outgrown or otherwise looking to retire one this fall, please contact me and I should be able to find it a good home. Some would be interested in 24" while others would need 650's or even very small 700's.
