Sherry,

Your e-mail is appreciated. The surgery on my shoulder Friday went
well, but pain is the big issue now. Too bad that after my crash at
the GW racing seminar a decade ago I did not pusue the cause of the
continuing pain more aggressively. It took an MRI a month ago to
identify the problem as 3/4 ruptured tendon of the supraspinatus
muscle. Lesson here is that if it keeps on hurting push for real
answers.

I came home Saturday, and am getting good care by my son. My right
arm is not quite as restricted as I thought it would be. It is in a
sling. If I hold my upper arm immobile I can do some stuff with my
hand. Any untoward motion of my upper arm or its muscles really
hurts. That is unpleasant, but fortunate, because I have an
immediate incentive to avoid damaging motions.

I expect I will be using the sling 4-6 weeks, and "full" recovery,
such as that may be, will take a couple more months. You will
understnd I am in no shape to help out at the KWMRR. I surely will
miss my participation.

This description is about all I can manage with one finger. It's
not very exciting compared to all the fine race reports.

Yes, I am feeling as well as may be expected under the
circumstances. Now about that crabby stuff. Of course I am crabby,
but nothing new there. Paul Asenault is such a really nice guy, the
rest of you may ease up on your discipline.

"Hard Ass" Tom
