[GW] General updates/Newz from the Pres.

Hello GW,

GW Forum 
As many of you know, GW has a membership forum board.  The board is active and I encourage you to check it often for updates.  www.gopherwheelmen.org
We are attempting to cut back on use of the mcf.net email utilizing the email list only for occasional use and updates.

Tuesday GW rides.  We would like to increase participation on our GW Tuesday training rides.  Check out the forum for updates  The current plan is to group ride for the month of August, and hopefully for the remainder of the season on Tuesday's. We can do it so that everyone gets a good work out.  We will regroup after sprints and intense intervals.  We will NOT wait for everyone, but if you can handle a 18 mph average on your own for the distance, you should be okay.  

Cross
The road racing season is winding down, strange and surreal as this seems.  It is not even August yet.  Soon Cross season will be approaching.  Stay tune for upcoming GW cross clinics which will posted on the forum.  

Red Barn
GW will be promoting the Red Barn Classic Cross Race on November 1.  We will be seeking volunteers for the race, so keep the date open.

Membership Coordinator change.
Lynn B has resigned her position of membership coordinator and from GW women's team, opting to race unaffiliated. I have appreciated her willingness to take on the membership position.  She did a great job.  In the interim I will be filling in for her, until we find a replacement for 09.  If anyone is interested in this position please contact me.  

New Email.
I have a new home email account.  ssbt123 at aol.com   It is fine to email me at work, or at home.  Please don't email me at the old Hieberde account.  

November 2008
We will have our annual officer election meeting in November.  Stay tune for the date.  I have now been president of GW for 10 years.  I have felt honored and very committed to the position.   Truly I could not have lasted this long without loyal teammates and helpers.  Our team can use some reorganization for 09.

To those who have been struggling with illness and or loss of a family member, know you are in our thoughts and prayers.
